I MISS THE HUDSON…. 45 min in Prospect Park… Just not the same

I miss running on the Hudson…..

Manhattan is my favorite place in this whole world.  I tried ignoring that fact when we moved to Brooklyn but deep down I know it’s true…
I miss running on the Husdon…
I miss the energy in the city.  It feels like speed with no side effects.
I miss the strangers who pass by, who I know mostly live in tiny apartments but are fighting to make something work.  A dream, a job, a project, a message, who knows?
I miss running on the Hudson.  there is no place like it….
When I’m old I want to live in Manhattan.  I want to run on on the WSH and stare at the Husdon and I still want to be writing stories fueled and inspired by bumping into incredibly talented people at a local bar.  People no one really  knows right now but will very soon.
The stories I make up about people I pass by every day in NYC are different than the stories I make up about anyone else in the whole world.  They are always better.
People who leave NYC always talk about “space” and “knowing the people in their neighborhood”….
Manhattan is 33.77 Square Miles.  That’s a lot of space.  and it’s filled with buildings and amazing food and grass and sky and a secret around every corner.
I know it took about 6 years to get a smile out of my deli guy in the morning but it’s a well earned smile.  It’s better than any lively greeting I can get on the second day in some suburb…
I miss running on the Hudson……..
